Who This Is For

Yards, workboat operators, and builders who buy to a spec

A commercial yard buys hardware differently than a chandlery customer. The purchasing agent at a repair yard is filling a work order against a survey; the workboat operator is stocking spares for a vessel that loses money at the dock; the boat builder is buying a hundred of everything to a print. All three share a problem: marine-grade hardware from consumer channels is expensive per piece and thin on paperwork, while true mil-spec hardware — made to a published standard, in corrosion-resistant materials, with an identifier that survives decades — traditionally moved through government supply channels a commercial yard never sees.

Quick Brown Fox Solutions puts that supply channel on the open web with the price printed on the page. The catalog includes marine and ship hardware proper — scuttle and hatch fittings and deck hardware in the ship-and-marine supply classes — alongside the categories that make up the bulk of any yard's hardware spend: AN and AS flared-tube fittings, hydraulic hose, pipe and tube, fuel, hydraulic, and pneumatic valves, over a thousand O-rings and seals in mil-spec compounds, and stainless and corrosion-resistant fasteners by the thousands of line items.

Why Mil-Spec

Let the specification do the vetting

Salt water is the great auditor of hardware. A mil-spec item earns its place aboard for three practical reasons. The spec defines the material and finish — when the standard calls for corrosion-resistant steel with a defined passivation, that is what the part is, testable and documented, rather than "marine grade" as a marketing adjective. The identifier is permanent. A deck fitting bought by NSN today can be reordered by the same number at the next yard period, by a different buyer, from a different supplier, ten years on — try that with a chandlery SKU. For ex-government vessels it is the original part. Many workboats, patrol conversions, and surplus small craft were built to those very standards; the parts manual, where one survives, speaks NSN.

One honest note on acceptance: our orders ship with source documentation and country-of-origin paperwork — described below — and acceptance under a class society rule, Coast Guard requirement, or owner's specification remains your determination. If a line item on your work order needs a specific certificate, put it on the RFQ so it can be on the quote.

How Ordering Works

Built for the yard-period calendar

Published pricing. Every stocked item shows its unit price on the page, so a hardware takeoff from the survey prices itself — no waiting on distributor quotes to close the estimate for the owner.

Order by part number or NSN. MS, AN, AS, mil-spec, or stock number: the same item carries the same published price on every path.

Batch RFQs. Paste the whole work-order hardware list into one RFQ — fittings, seals, fasteners, the odd valve — and get one consolidated quote back, acknowledged within one business day, with lead time and a documentation list. Volume pricing quoted on request.

Fulfillment within 90 days of order; minimum order may apply. That timeline fits the way real yard work is planned: order at survey, receive before haul-out. It does not fit the emergency at the fuel dock — and we would rather tell you that here than on a late shipment. For consumables, buy the minimum into stores; vessels eat seals and fasteners on a schedule you can predict.

Documentation with every order. Source documentation and country-of-origin paperwork. Stock items are country of origin Türkiye (Turkey). For yards doing government vessel work: Türkiye is a DFARS qualifying country (DFARS 225.003), so on DoD and DLA solicitations these items are evaluated without Buy American price penalties; the TAA applies only to supply contracts at or above $174,000 (threshold effective March 2026), and buyers confirm their specific solicitation's origin clauses.

Beyond the Shelf

Custom-machined marine parts, and neighboring buyers

Yards live on obsolete equipment. When the part is a print-defined shaft, a bushing for a windlass nobody has supported since the eighties, or a fitting that needs modification, that is a machining job, not a sourcing job — and it is our other line of business: custom CNC machining produced in the United States through an ISO 9001:2015 certified production network, in the bronze, stainless, and alloy grades marine work demands.

Neighboring buyer pages: yards doing government work should also read mil-spec hardware for defense contractors for the full origin-and-clause picture; restorers of surplus military craft and vehicles will find the NSN method on parts for military vehicle owners and restorers; and builders weighing make-versus-buy on standard hardware should see stock hardware for machine shops and OEMs.

FAQ

Marine buyer questions, answered

Why buy mil-spec hardware for a commercial vessel?

The specification does the vetting: defined material, finish, and testing — including corrosion-resistant grades — plus a permanent identifier any future yard period can reorder against. For ex-government vessels, it is often simply the original part.

Can you quote a full yard-period hardware list?

Yes — one batch RFQ, one consolidated quote, acknowledged within one business day. Published pricing lets you budget the list before you send it.

What documentation ships with orders?

Source documentation and country-of-origin paperwork; stock items are Türkiye origin. Acceptance under class, Coast Guard, or owner requirements is the buyer's determination — put special certificate needs on the RFQ.

What are the ordering terms?

Published pricing, order by part number or NSN, RFQ acknowledged in one business day, fulfillment within 90 days of order, minimum order may apply.
